Slow out of the Blocks for Bulls

12 Sep 2018 by Ronan McDonald

A slow start to the Bulls season 2018/19 has seen the top grades failing to register a win from the first two fixtures. Coming up against strong opposition bolstered with QLD Bulls players looking to impress for the upcoming JLT Cup has kept the Toombul boys in the starters blocks.

As history shows from last year the season is very much a marathon with similar beginnings in 2017 eventually leading to a finals berth. With the final round of the One Day formats this weekend against Wynnum-Manly the squad will be looker to put in strong performances to remind the rest of the competition of the challenge they have coming to ‘The Yard’ this season.

This weekend also sees the beginning of the season for our 3rd – 6th grades with the increase in numbers at training suggesting that a few regular spots might not be as set in stone with a number of new faces and younger prospects having an impressive pre-season under Andrew Pilgrim. The appearances of some old boys back down at the Alan Skuse Nets has definitely been a welcome addition and the buzz is building for a great launch Saturday night with ’W’’s across the board.
